Spring Break '09 Part 1

For Spring Break 2009 we rented a house for the week on Fort Morgan Road (thanks to Boot and Susu) and had our own pool and beach out front - it was the perfect spring break location!

After a nice Palm Sunday nap, Mac and I left to meet Rob and the girls at the beach.  He was still feeling pretty sleepy, but I promised him that he had a whole week with his sisters ahead of him - so he was happy with that news!

As I unpacked Mac's bags, he unpacked his trains.  You can never have too many trains.  (Also, for anyone with train obsessed boys, I highly recommend this traveling Thomas the train table that converts into a carrying case.)

Day one started out a bit breezy - so the girls got creative and threw their pants on under their swim skirts.  Definitely feeling cute!

Ann Louise came over from Ono Island for a swim with us on Monday.  It was freezing in that pool - but they were not to be deterred from getting their spring break on.

Barclay tried to hang in there with the big kids but she was FREEZING.  So she headed straight for the warm bath tub.

And was soon joined by Ann Louise and Madison!

Day 2 was sunny but a bit too cold for the beach or the pool - so we put on our shades and headed to the outlets.  Susu and Mommy were proud of our three shoppers - they lasted longer than expected, thanks to an on-site play ground, a merry-go-round and some 75 cent kiddie rides along the way.  Mom took some pics from the mall so hopefully I can get some downloaded from her.

Traffic Jams, Fudgecicles, Monkey and John Deere

Spring has sprung and we are taking advantage of the excess Vitamin D to be had outside! Barclay got home from school to a very excited Mac - waiting for his big sister.  (Madison had Creating with Clay after school today).  He donned his finest attire for the event and they got to playing.  He on his tractor, she on her bike - if only he knew how to put on the brakes!

It was time for a snack - and Daddy's fudgecicles were just what the doctor ordered.  We have learned that eating fudgecicles is best accomplished in the buff (boots and diaper excepted).

Mac went for a little walk with Monkey, enjoying their taste of afternoon freedom and no doubt entertaining our entire neighborhood!  (We are a proud combination of Arkansan and Alabamian rednecks.)

All of this excitement completely exhausted Monkey - who decided to take a siesta in the bed of the tractor.

Madison finally got home and managed to squeeze in a chapter of her newly selected Leprechaun book before the sun got too low.  A good day all around.

Something New

I have just created a blog... we'll see if I am good about using it or not.  My husband has been wanting me to create a family website for a while now, and this seemed like the more appropriate format for what he wanted to accomplish.  I was inspired to actually do it today because it's a very rainy day in Mobile and Mac decided that the giant lake in our backyard was just what the doctor ordered after being cooped up inside all day (followed by a not-so-glamorous trip to Wal-Mart).  I took some pictures of him splashing through Lake McGinley and thought that they should be shared somewhere - what a happy baby!  Now, let's cross our fingers and see if I can download the accompanying photos!
